Day 2

Faith

When circumstances become difficult, and we feel a loss of control over any aspect of our lives, our natural instinct is to try to “fix” things in order to regain control. This is a logical response, because we learn from a very young age that if we do nothing, things only seem to get worse.

However, the Christian life is filled with concepts that seem to contradict themselves. Many times, the harder we try to control our circumstances, the less control we really have. It is only when we choose to let go and trust God with the outcome that we will experience breakthrough.

Work is an area where our Faith can be pushed and tested regularly. Whether you are unemployed and searching for a job, dealing with a difficult boss or coworker, struggling with your performance on the job, or having difficulty making ends meet, there is a good chance you are struggling with Faith. You are probably doing your best to hold everything together on your own.

Remember what was written in Matthew 17:20: So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.”

Jesus did not say we have to try harder, be stronger, or be a better person in order to do something great. He simply stated we need to have a little bit of Faith and we can accomplish any goal God placed in our hearts. Take a step back and look at how strengthening your Faith could create positive results in your work life.

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Lord, I ask You to cure my spirit of unbelief. Help me to let go of the anxiety I am feeling about my circumstances and allow You to use it for your glory. To believe that I can do all things through CHRIST and to prevail with Your strength. I know that I will experience breakthrough and that You will accomplish Your Will through my circumstances.
