Second Chance Coaching
Building upon our extensive experience helping individuals with a criminal record, frequent job changes, or extended periods of unemployment due to substance use, our Second Chance Coaching Program is designed to help individuals secure stable employment and excel in the workforce. Our group coaching format allows individuals to connect and network with others, build community, and learn invaluable skills specific to their circumstance. You can participate in one or all groups offered, so whether you are unemployed or currently employed, this program can help.
How to Structure Your Job Search – (Focus, Tools, & Strategies)
Course Description: Do you feel overwhelmed searching for jobs online? Does it take too long to fill out every application? Are you loosing hope, and need strategies to make better use of your time? This session will help you stay energized in your job search, learn best practices for maximizing your time, and receive strategies on how to work smarter and not harder.
Understanding and Working With Barriers
Course Description: Are you frustrated every time you mark “yes” for having a criminal background, or having a difficult time explaining frequent job changes and gaps in your employment? Learn how to address these challenges, and innovative strategies to overcome personal barriers to securing employment.
Confidence: My plan failed. Now what?
Course Description: Have you heard the word “No” more than you can take? Are you discouraged and having difficulty regaining your confidence to pursue your dreams? Confidence coaching is for you! During this session, learn how to improve your mental stamina to push through any failed plan, and regain the confidence needed to follow your dreams.
Interview Preparation
Course Description: You were just selected for an interview, now what? If you are nervous, anxious, scared, or all of the above about your next interview – this session is a must. You will learn how to “sell yourself” to any potential employer, answer tough questions, and close the deal in order to get your next job!
Job Etiquette (Before you Land the Job)
Course Description: Have you ever been written up or fired from a job? Have you struggled to get along with a co-worker or boss? This session will provide insights on challenging workplace scenarios, strategies to improve your habits at work, and general best practices to help you thrive.
Transitional Paths (Industry Change)
Course Description: Are you currently employed, but not at your dream job? Do not wait until your job becomes unbearable, start the planning process now. This session will help you research future industries, identify, and fill experience/skills gaps, and leverage marketplace mentors.
Transition Coaching
The Transition Coaching Program is designed for individuals who are transitioning professionally, either because of a recent lay off, corporate downsizing, career change, or extended time away from the workforce. This program is intended to help those who have professional experience and are not limited in the marketplace because of concerns related to their criminal background. Multi-Generational Workplace

WorkFaith currently offers group and individual coaching. Our group coaching sessions are based on four specific tracks: Transition, 2nd Chance, 55+, and General. Each session provides relevant content and strategies, facilitated breakout sessions. Individual coaching address specific issues, with sample topics including, resume review, mock interview, career mapping/planning, etc.
Group coaching provides added community, and greater opportunity to learn and connect with the experiences of others. Individual coaching addresses specific individual concerns. Case Management is a service-driven process, referring to the managing of services such as social services, unemployment, housing, etc. Counseling is a therapeutic process used to help clients overcome mental and social challenges such as anxiety and depression. Both processes are directed by the service provider.
Coaching Services is client-driven. We come alongside to help you set and achieve your goals in the areas of job search, keeping a job, and advancement in your career.
Individual Coaching is used to provide individualized support related to a specific need including resume review, mock interview, career mapping/planning, etc.
You can register for Group Coaching Sessions on the website. Upon registration, you will receive the information to attend the session.
Yes. Most employers require a clean drug screen in order to gain employment. For that reason, you must pass a drug screen on the first day of the workshop.
You can register for individual coaching services by sending an email request to coaching@workfaith.org with the subject line: “Individual Coaching Request”. You will receive a “Welcome to Coaching” email within 1-2 business days and will be provided a link to complete an assessment and coaching agreement. Based on your coaching needs and availability, you will be paired with the appropriate coach.

While our goal is to provide quality coaching services in a timely manner, we are only able to provide individual coaching services by appointment only. If an emergency resource is needed, please call 2-1-1 for immediate assistance.
We understand that emergencies occur that are beyond our control. However, we request that if you are unable to attend your scheduled appointment, please notify us by email (coaching@workfaith.org) or by phone (713) 984.9611 at least 24 hours in advance. If this persists, WorkFaith reserves the right to deny participation in individual coaching.
Yes! Both Group Coaching and Individual Coaching are conducted on the Zoom platform which is accessible by smartphone, computer, or tablet.
When attending both group and individual coaching, please come prepared by bringing a notebook and a writing utensil to take notes. While we may provide supplemental resources, we do not provide copies of our content.
Group Coaching is 90 minutes per session and Individual Coaching ranges between 30-45 minutes per session.
You are welcome to attend as many group coaching sessions as you need to achieve your goals. For individual coaching sessions, we encourage you to attend at least 2-3 sessions after your initial one-on-one session. We have found this to be most effective in offering both support and accountability in achieving your goals.
No. We no longer require the completion of our 5-day training before engaging with coaching.
While we will do our best to accommodate special request, we cannot always guarantee your desired coach will be available. However, our coaching team has a diverse wealth of experience and we often leverage the strengths of the entire team to support our clients with specific needs.
